Many of us remember the days of listening to the radio and adjusting the dial to gain the strongest possible signal.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom. 8:6
To be spiritually minded is to be tuned into the frequency of Life.
In other words, how we think is the frequency that determines how we live. Many have allowed their minds to be consumed with the cares of the world, worry, fear, strife and hurt. Those thoughts work ‘death’ in our lives: the death of vision, of hope and of faith.
What does it mean to be spiritually minded?
Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phil. 4:8
Is what we think about so important? Absolutely. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Prov. 23:7)
Thinking ‘in your heart’ refers to the thoughts you return to over and over—the things you meditate on and give place to. These are the thoughts that will either produce life or death. Just as we all have a favourite radio station, we also have a favourite spiritual or carnal frequency that we pay attention to. God’s frequency of Life is available to all.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom. 8:5
Tuning in to Life. It is your choice.
