How can one be aware of God’s goodness when they are going through a long-term illness?

I can understand that because I went through that myself and I had bad days. That’s where I learned there are three levels on which we live, and I learned to live from my spirit in order to believe and be aware of God’s goodness. Even whilst I had the soul, the emotional realm that was on a roller coaster. Some days I would be very cranky and other days I would be fine and I would go back and forth. I realised I couldn’t live from a place of going back and forth. I couldn’t live from what my body was going through in the physical realm.

How do I believe God is good when I am sick? I had to live from the spirit.

That was a choice. I recognised spirit, soul, and body aren’t just theology; it’s reality. I learned to live from my spirit and draw from my spirit even when I wasn’t feeling well in my emotions or my body. I could believe in God’s goodness and know that I was still at peace with God and everything was going to be okay. I am getting healed. My body is healing, everything is getting better, and I would just keep telling myself those things.

Will prayer help me in my belief of God’s goodness when I am sick?

When I could be more proactive in prayer, I would do that and when I couldn’t, I couldn’t. I didn’t get condemned about that. I just let the peace of God rule in my heart, knowing He had spoken to me that I would live and not die. That’s how I navigated that time of my life.
