CHARIS MINUTES
Watch the video to hear Andrew’s full answer on how to overcome hardness of heart
In this Charis Minute, Andrew Wommack emphasises the importance of interacting with both the physical and spiritual realms. He points out that while resources may appear limited in the natural world, they can be significantly multiplied through God’s power in the spiritual realm if we can learn how to overcome hardness of heart.
Allowing the natural world to harden our hearts can hinder our ability to believe in God’s promises. I want to encourage you towards a deeper connection with spiritual truths as we live in this natural world. Let me explain it this way: you have to use your senses to drive a car, to fly a plane, to go to work and to deal with things. You can’t just close your eyes to the world and operate in exclusivity to the spirit. You have to deal with the natural realm to a degree, but you have to see beyond the natural realm and see that little is much when God is in it.
Sight into the spiritual realm is crucial for overcoming hardness of heart
Consider the story of the five loaves and two fishes. These five loaves and two small minnow fish Jesus multiplied to feed a multitude. You can’t do that
if all you do is think in the natural realm, you have to be able to see beyond this physical realm. It’s not a full denial of the physical but it’s a looking beyond is what I am talking about. Naturally left to yourself, you will be limited to what you can see, taste, smell and feel. When you get into the Word of God, and a relationship with God like Jesus had with His Father, even amid negative situations, you can see things that others don’t see.
With a heart focused on God you can overcome hardness of heart
You can see beyond the limitations of the natural and you can see into the supernatural. This is what my teaching resource on hardness of heart is all about. Yes, we’re going to have negative things come against our bodies, our finances, our relationships, our emotions and things like this. But you can look beyond
just the natural thing that’s happening and your heart can be so focused on God that you are rejoicing right amid a situation that in the natural would have made you cry. That’s not only possible, it’s the normal Christian life.
So can we overcome hardness of heart?
The answer is with God, yes, we can. Recognising the supernatural requires intentional effort; it does not occur automatically. A relationship with God, through prayer and scripture, enables individuals to perceive beyond their immediate circumstances. This perspective allows one to maintain joy and hope even in challenging situations, a hallmark of the normal Christian experience. Ultimately, we focus on God to transcend life’s difficulties.
